MBloc Design Week Bali 2026 CONTINUUM — Daur Rupa Sustainable Design

This year, MBloc Design Week Chapter Bali invites us to look at sustainability not simply as starting something new, but as understanding what can continue, transform, and find new meaning. CONTINUUM explores three areas: WHAT BALI KEEPS? What knowledge, skills, traditions, and ways of living remain relevant—and how can they evolve beyond nostalgia? MATERIALITY What can materials tell us about place, ecology, craft, technology, and the future? We welcome explorations of local, reclaimed, leftover, renewable, traditional, and innovative materials. THE THIRD PLACE (for Architecture) How can design create spaces for people to meet, share, work, learn, rest, and build community? For the architectural exploration, we look at two very different but rapidly changing contexts: Denpasar and Seminyak (read TOR for more information). We are looking for ideas, objects, materials, spaces, practices, experiments, and perspectives that respond to Bali today—and imagine what might continue tomorrow. What should we keep?
